Ron White continues to headline theaters with his “Drunk In Public” tour across the United States. The tour was ranked in the top 50 tours in Pollstar Magazine of 2004. Ron taped a new One-Hour Special “You Can’t Fix Stupid” for Comedy Central at the Majestic Theater in Dallas, TX. The special will air on Sunday, March 26, 2006. The comedy CD of the same name will be released on February 7, 2006 on Image Records and the DVD will be released on March 28, 2006.
Ron is also developing an animated series for TBS based on his standup which should premiere in the summer of 2006. He also has a book coming out with Dutton Publishing on June 6, 2006 “I had the right to remain silent….but I didn’t have the ability” based on his standup.
Ron made his solo comedy CD debut releasing “Drunk in Public” in November of 2003. “Drunk in Public,” showcased the insightful and hilarious White, who manages to be both razor sharp and blunt. The comedy CD has been in the Top 10 of the Billboard Comedy Charts since February of 2004. To date, the CD has sold over 450,000 copies.
Ron’s hour long comedy special, “They Call Me Tater Salad,” premiered on Comedy Central in June of 2004 and helped give the network its highest rated Sunday in their history attracting 3.3 million viewers. The DVD was released two days later and has since sold over one million copies. “The Ron White Show,” a comedy special for the WB network, was filmed in Las Vegas and aired on April 28, 2005 with 4 million viewers. The show helped propel the network to one of its best Thursday nights of the season.
From January 2000 through March 2003, Ron White performed with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry The Cable Guy in the highly acclaimed “Blue Collar Comedy Tour,” a show that played to sold out audiences in over 90 cities and grossed over $15 million dollars. The tour was filmed as a major motion picture by Warner Bros. and released in theaters March 2003. Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie premiered on Comedy Central and was the highest rated movie in the channel’s history. The DVD has sold more than 3 million units. The soundtrack for this movie has been RIAA certified gold (more than 500,000 units) and continues to chart in the Billboard Comedy Chart’s Top 10.
Blue Collar Comedy Tour, Rides Again, the sequel to the first film, has sold more than 2.6 million units on DVD. The movie premiered on Comedy Central February 13, 2005 and was the 3rd most watched telecast ever leading the channel to its most watched day, weekend, and week in network history. Warner Bros. Records released the soundtrack on November 23, 2004 and it debuted at number one on the Billboard Comedy Charts.
In March of 2006, the Blue Collar boys will reunite to shoot Blue Collar Comedy Tour, One For The Road in Washington, DC at the Warner Theater. The movie will have its world premiere on Comedy Central
Ron has appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and had his own half-hour stand up special for Comedy Central Presents. He also appeared at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in 2001 and was voted “Best Act of the Friday Night Gala” by Anne Sutherland; he also scored “Best Joke” and “Artistic Impression” by Bill Brownstein, both of “The Gazette”.
