Rayman 3

Rayman 3
Game: Rayman 3
Platform: PS2
Studio: Ubi Soft
Rating: 8/10

Game Company’s Description: When Globox accidentally swallows the Lord of the Dark Lums, Rayman must face the Hoodlums, a bumbling yet deadly army of evil bent on recovering their leader from Globox and overtaking the land. Rayman’s only chance? Quest to find a cure for the manic Globox, scour the land for unearthly new powers, and win the allegiance of a fierce warrior-tribe known as the Knaaren.
Look: There is one thing guaranteed when it comes to the Rayman franchise; cool graphics. Rayman 3 boasts some impressive graphics. The characters are amazingly detailed. The backgrounds are rolling with details that only get better. As usual Rayman has pushed the boundaries of a new platform.

Feel: The play won’t be foreign to gamers. There are some great new moves which make Rayman quite a fierce competitor. When he gets his hands on some spiked steel gloves that pack a real deadly punch. Then there is the rocket, vortex, lockjaw and many more cool moves. The moves are more than destructive, you need them in order to proceed in many stages you must find hidden moves in order to continue on. The levels seem smaller, but much more free flowing.

The smaller level design leads to a quicker game. Honestly a good half-day is all you need to finish the entire game. There are cool bonuses, but even those only add a little extra time.

Hear: The voice acting is good, even sarcastic at times. The sound effects are fantastic.

Frankly: For adults the game might appear too easy, but it’s hard to tell if it’s aimed at kids or adults as it points in both directions. The sarcastic voice acting seems like it’s aimed for adult males, however the gameplay seems like its ripe for teenagers.
