Track #
1. Rainy Day Parade Starts off with a cute little spell and becomes pure magic. The chorus is obscure perfection. 8/10
2. One Of These Days Splendid. I’m looking for a couple adjectives to describe this song, but I guess its something you need to hear for yourself. 8.5/10
3. Lucy At The Gym As quirky as “I Kissed A Girl”. Sobule at her story telling best. 7/10
4. Claire Sobule sings delightful about the secret life of Claire. You giggle and begin to sing along to this pop gem. 8/10
5. Mexican Wrestler Even when its silly its solid. The chorus is exquisite. I love the verse ‘Sometimes I wish that I was beauty/ a beautiful girl who was still twenty-one/ and I’d turn your head as well as your buddies/ and I could afford to play hard to get”. It’s sad but the story is something we all can understand. 7.5/10
6. Heros This isn’t the song you’d expect! You’re going to look at your idols differently after hearing this. 7/10
7. Mary Kay Aren’t you tired of hearing me gushing? 7.5/10
8. Somewhere In New Mexico Jill Sobule is on her game. This is blissful. 8/10
9. Guy Who Doesn’t Get It I felt like I was frolicking through a country western bar as Sobule donned cowboy boots belting insults like bullets. 7.5/10
10. Someone’s Gonna Break Your Heart Rocker that throws you for a loop. 8/10
11. Loveless Motel A curious page out of Sobule’s memoir. 7/10
12. Rock Me To Sleep Lullaby that may make you sob, but in the end you’ll be better for it. 7/10
I’ve got a whole new respect for Jill Sobule. She is so far from being a one hit wonder! I’m telling my friends and anyone who will listen; Jill Sobule’s Pink Pearl is a amazing.
