Great White – Latest & Greatest

Great White

Big hair isn’t back yet, is it? I thought it’d take another twenty years before it came back around. At least I prayed it would take that long. Well, Great White has put out a greatest hit album of sorts. The first track is a cover of Led Zepplin’s “In The Light”. It’s not very exciting.

Then come their hits. “Rock Me” is first. Okay, the lyrics are pathetic, but the melody is tight, I’ll give them that. “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” isn’t as transcending as “Rock Me”. What once sounded cool is now only a picture in time.

Now for the latest. “Rollin’ Stoned” is a new track and nothing to get excited about. It’s basically ripped off of a few tracks from other bands out of the ’80’s.

I guess you can take the band out of the decade, but you can’t get those productive years back. If you actually like these guys, get the album, but you don’t need to brush up on your history with this clunker.
