The tour kicks off on April 4th in Portland, ME, and visits more than 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada before wrapping up with a hometown show at Atlanta’s Masquerade Music Park on May 12th. These shows will feature an amazing night of powerful music featuring a dream bill with Swedish metal band Opeth as co-headliners, with special guest Ghost providing support on all dates. Collectively Mastodon has stated: “We’re excited to co-headline this tour with Opeth for whom we have great respect and admiration. Having Ghost along as well will make this tour a special event.” Tickets go on sale February 3rd and 4th. Visit www.mastodonrocks.com for details. There will be a Fan Presale scheduled to begin at 3pm local venue time on Wednesday, February 1stavailable only at www.mastodonrocks.com

Mastodon have recently posted a very special video for their new single “Dry Bone Valley,” created by noted fine artist Tim Biskup, a long-time friend who has amassed a cadre of loyal fans and collectors of his painting and sculpture. Watch the new video here.

“Dry Bone Valley” is the second single from Mastodon’s critically acclaimed album The Hunter, which found its way onto several Year End/Best Of critics’ lists, including those compiled by Rolling Stone, Spin, Revolver, Decibel and many more.

Released on September 27th, The Hunter entered the Billboard Top 200 Album chart in the Top 10. The first single, “Curl of the Burl,” has been nominated for a 2012 Grammy Award for “Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.” Radio play for the track brought even Mastodon to the attention of the mainstream masses by rocketing into the Top 15 of the Billboard charts resulting in their greatest radio presence to date. By comparison, “Dry Bone Valley” is already accelerating with more immediate impact on radio waves. The press also continues to pledge their commitment:

“Mastodon exists as one of the most crucial and challenging acts working today.” – The Los Angeles Times

“Zeus be praised! Mastodon streamlined their molten thrash into a taut thwump that doesn’t pull back one bit on their natural complexity of innate weirdness.” – Rolling Stone’s Best of 2011

Mastodon is currently immersed in an extensive tour of Europe and Australia. At the conclusion of the tour, Mastodon will fly directly to Los Angels to attend the Grammys as “Curl Of The Burl” has captured a nomination for “Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.” Have a look at the official video for “Curl Of The Burl” here. Beginning February 24 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the band will make their way around the Midwest and East Coast, with stops in New York, Providence, Atlantic City, Nashville, and more.

Middle Class Rut is touring in support of their debut album, No Name No Color, which spawned the smash radio hit “New Low” – reaching #5 at Alternative Radio. The anticipated new single “Are You On Your Way” will impact around the start of the tour. Having been named a “2011 Artist to Watch” by MTV and scoring a coveted spot in USA Today’s “On the Verge” feature, Middle Class Rut are one of the most promising acts of the year. BBC Radio 1′s tastemaker Zane Lowe awarded them Hottest Record honors, calling them “something propulsive and tribal that promises to unleash the rock, but remains unexpectedly restrained.” AOL’s Noisecreep declares the album “raucous, melodic rock,” while Alternative Press asserts “MC Rut are riveting, the rawness and intensity of their performance drenched in the pints of sweat they undoubtedly shed at every show.”

Middle Class Rut’s resplendent cover of the Bob Dylan classic”Hurricane” is now available for purchase via all online outlets. The digital bundle also features an exclusive live version of “New Low” (from No Name No Color) and “Dead Set” (from 25 Years EP), recorded live in the UK at Zane Lowe’s Maida Vale session and at XFM Studios, respectively. The “Hurricane” 10″ is also available on vinyl – order it HERE.

Middle Class Rut’s Zack Lopez (vocals, guitar) and Sean Stockham (vocals, drums), have been playing together since they were teenagers. The pair records every song they write together almost immediately upon coming up with the idea in their rehearsal space, capturing the instantaneous spirit of a track while still in the moment. They’ve toured with a range of artists, including Linkin Park, Social Distortion, Alice in Chains, Them Crooked Vultures, …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, The Bronx and AWOLNATION. Their track “Lifelong Dayshift” is also featured on the exclusive GameStop release of the Transformers: Dark of the Moon soundtrack.

Five Finger Death Punch has announced they will tour Canada as well as the Western US beginning this March, with legendary Soulfly as support, as well as Windowpane and Persist. 5FDP will headline Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg and more, while also playing a special Las Vegas hometown show alongside other western-US markets. Singer Ivan Moody shared, “The few times we’ve been to Canada it’s been absolutely phenomenal. The fact that we get to take a band like Soulfly with us on a tour like this says it all. This is going to be one hell of a great time, in no uncertain terms.” Guitarist Zoltán Báthory added, “We only played a handful of dates in Canada, but they were all sold-out so we are really looking forward to a headlining tour up there. What makes it even sweeter is taking one of our favorite bands Soulfly with us on this trek. As we are playing bigger and bigger venues, I think it became our responsibility to help expose some great metal bands to our more diverse audience .”

This will be 5FDP’s first proper headlining tour in Western Canada, where their current album, American Capitalist is already more than halfway to CRIA-Certified Gold Record Status – a mere three months after its release. 5FDP’s previous album, War is the Answer, is projected to hit CRIA-GOLD Status this spring, right around the time of the tour.

In the US, 5FDP continues to rack up impressive sales with over 280,000 copies of American Capitalist already sold. Incredibly, American Capitalist is selling twice as fast as their previous Gold record, War Is the Answer- which itself has been one of the best-selling hard rock/ metal albums of the last five years. 5FDP’s current hit single, “Remember Everything” is already Top Five at Active Rock and climbing; their lead single, “Under and Over It,” was recently named Sirius Octane’s Song of the Year, and American Capitalist was named a Top Album of 2011 by ARTISTdirect.

Tickets go on sale to the general public the weekend of January 27th and 28th, but special VIP packages and tickets will be available starting WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25th 3pm LOCAL at www.fivefingerdeathpunch.com.

Her Secretly Canadian debut One Second Of Love will be available March 6th. Nite Jewel will also be playing this year’s SXSW.

Nite Jewel, aka California native Ramona Gonzalez, first began her transcendent minimalist dance-pop escapades in the privacy of her own home in Los Angeles. With the aid of her multitrack cassette recorder and whatever keyboards, drum machines, and other instruments that were available to her, she very quickly developed her own unique sound – likened to that of a warped, lo-fi version of Late-80’s Freestyle Electro sensation Debbie Deb.

The One Second Of Love title track [futureusgalleryavailable as a single now via iTunes] was recently named Best New Track on Pitchfork. They had this to say: “One Second Of Love reaches a new level. Whereas her previous recordings were capable only of hinting at Eno-like instrumentals, this song recalls them strongly, offering four minutes of funk-oriented pop with a crisp, galactic feel. Gonzalez’ voice booms over the snappy synth grooves, and a mid-tempo drum beat provides a cool, danceable sway.”
