Taylor told Artisan News Service: “Dave is doing a documentary about the legendary board from Sound City that everybody and their mom recorded on and he’s slowly but surely gotten all these people together to make music on that board again.”

He continued: “He called me. He was like, ‘Would you like to do a tune?’ I was like, ‘Are you serious? I’m on a plane right now.’ And it’s really cool, because it’s me, Dave and Rick Nielsen [futureusgalleryCheap Trick] on one tune. And I’m like, ‘Ahh…. Excuse me?!’ It’s just a huge check mark on my bucket list, let’s put it that way. And I’m really ecstatic. It’s a really good tune.”

It is not known as yet when Grohl’s documentary or its accompanying soundtrack will be released.

“You knew we’d be back,” said vocalist Corey Taylor. “Now, you know we’re coming. This will be a tour people will scarcely want to miss. It will definitely be a show to remember. Can’t wait to see the states again from behind a mask.”

Slipknot will be joined on the main stage by Slayer, and a special guest to be named on March 5. The stage’s lineup will be rounded out be a rotation of The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria, who will also rotate onto the Jagermeister Stage with Anthrax and more.

Taylor took to Twitter to say that he had just completed a song with Grohl and Nirvana producer Butch Vig. Posting at Twitter/CoreyTaylorRock, Taylor, who also performs with Stone Sour, wrote: “HUGE checks off the Bucket List today- did a song with Dave Grohl and Butch Vig. Do the words ‘holy shit’ say enough about it?!?”

It is not yet known if the song is for a Dave Grohl or a Corey Taylor project,

The Good:
“Psychosocial” – “And the rain will kill us all/ throw ourselves against the wall” are interesting lyrics in the context of a song that sounds brilliantly schizophrenic.
“Gematria (The Killing Name)” – Absolutely brutal and welcome.
“Snuff” – A Slipknot ballad? Yes and it doesn’t suck.
“Sulfur” – The verses bombard your ears while the chorus gives your soul a break–only momentarily.
“Dead Memories” – Slip this into any rock fans iPod and they’re walking away a fan.
“All Hope Is Gone” – Don’t hear it… listen to it.

Finally:
Slipknot leaves nobody behind in their brutal attack called “All Hope Is Gone.” You have to wonder where Slipknot could go. On the one hand they are out of range for most listeners but if you cut snippets of the choruses they could be Top 40–and not in a bad way.
