Capping off an incredible year, P!nk has been nominated for two Grammy Awards, including the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance category for her hit single “Sober” and in the Best Pop Vocal Album category for her multi-platinum selling album Funhouse. These two make a total of nine Grammy nominations for P!nk, who has won the coveted music award two times – for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals in 2001 for “Lady Marmalade,” performed with Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, and Mya, and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for “Trouble” from 2004’s Try This.

2009 has proved to be a whirlwind year for the international superstar, who’s nominated album Funhouse has now sold more than 5 million copies worldwide and boasts her first #1 Billboard single, “So What!” The album also inspired her wildly successful Funhouse Tour which took the world by storm this year, travelling across the globe and breaking touring records along the way. P!nk is now the most successful solo touring artist of all time in Australia, playing an unprecedented 60 sold out arena shows. Stateside, the US leg of the Funhouse Tour was P!nk’s first ever headlining arena tour in her home country. Kicking off in Seattle on September 15th, the tour packed arenas across the country and left fans and critics raving. The New York Times proclaimed, “Even in an era of escalating pop spectacle, Pink’s ‘Funhouse’ tour is going to be hard to top…Onstage she was a down-to-earth superwoman.” P!nk even previewed her Funhouse Tour with a fearless acrobatic performance at this year’s MTV VMA Awards.

P!nk’s dazzling live concert is captured in her recently released live DVD/album Funhouse Tour Live In Australia. The concert was filmed entirely in HD in Australia and features P!nk performing hits from the past decade as well as new favorites from Funhouse.

Since her debut in 2000, P!nk has been widely hailed as a fearlessly talented singer/songwriter. To date, the Pennsylvania native has sold 30 million albums cumulatively worldwide. Her previous albums include: her four million-unit selling debut, Can’t Take Me Home (2000); her sophomore follow-up, M!ssundaztood (2001) which sold 11 million worldwide; the 2.7 million worldwide seller Try This (2003), and I’m Not Dead (2006), which sold over 5 million units globally and spawned two No. 1 hits ”Who Knew” and “U + Ur Hand.”

Praise for P!nk:

“Pink can out-sing almost anyone out there. She can out-crazy Gaga or Lily. She’s the total pop-star package, everything you’d want in a singer/entertainer/icon” – MTV.COM

“One of the best rock shows of the year.” – New York Post

“Pink even pulled off an impressive version of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’…Like everything in Friday’s concert- like everything in Pink’s career- the song was a gamble, but one that the singer made look like a piece of cake.” – Los Angeles Times

“Pink’s true gift is as a musical androgynist — blurring the line between rocker and pop star, or between mourner and celebrant.” – Entertainment Weekly

“Pop music’s edgiest star” -Rolling Stone

“During a two-hour, turbo-charged performance at Key Arena, the platinum-blonde powerhouse overshadowed trapeze dancers, huge inflatable harlequins, Broadway-worthy choreography, and a pillow fight (!), wowing the packed crowd with her charisma, athleticism, and — most disarming of all — sense of humor.” – SPIN

Pink comes right on time in 2008 with her highly anticipated and provocatively personal “Funhouse” album, addressing both her public and private persona, as only Pink can. Teaming once again with hit-makers Max Martin, Billy Mann, and others, Pink is poised to leave another memorable mark worldwide! Since her debut in 2000, Pink (Alecia Moore) has been widely hailed as a fearlessly talented singer, songwriter and the Pennsylvania native’s genre-defying creative risk-taking has propelled her to global stardom. To date, the chanteuse has sold 22 million albums cumulatively worldwide.

The good:
“So What” – Divorce sucks and Pink turns it into cotton candy sprinkled with a bit of sour grapes. Yes, the lyrics are weak and lack depth and won’t be earning her a Grammy any time soon. Then again, it’s impossible to forget and that sometimes means more.

“Sober” – Pink digs deep on this ballad and sings with serious grit ala Stevie Nicks.

“Bad Influence” – This is Pink selling her bad-ass attitude and hooking it into a song that makes you sing, sing, sing-a-long.

“Funhouse” – The lyrics are impossibly bad: “this used to be a funhouse/ but now its full of evil clowns” and yet the song is interest and Pink hasn’t sounded this cool in a while. What does a critic do?

“Mean” – Someone slipped Pink a country song. Pink might have been better off lending the song to Carrie Underwood. Then again, Pink might do well in Nashville.

The rest:
“I Don’t Believe You” – A bland ballad that never showcases Pink’s style or talent.

“Crystal Ball” – A pretty song that doesn’t fit on an album called “Funhouse.” Pink should do a folk album.

“Ave Mary A” – It would have been better if she sang the real “Ave Maria.” I’d pay money to hear that.

Finally:
Besides the amazing voice, it’s Pink’s personality that endears to her to fans and critics alike. Too often “Funhouse” doesn’t let her personality shine. “So What” is all attitude while “Sober” sounds like a Stevie Nicks song. Pink has always been eclectic, but never boring–a place she finds herself far too often on “Funhouse.”
