Saving Abel’s third single & video, “Drowning (Face Down),” has raced it’s way into the Top 5 at Rock radio this week and the video recently debuted on MTV2 and Yahoo! Music (music.yahoo.com). The band’s self-titled debut album was recently certified gold by the RIAA. The platinum single “Addicted” had an extraordinary run as 2008’s most-played song at active rock radio, with 11 consecutive weeks at No. 2 in the format, and a No. 1 posting at mainstream rock radio and No. 7 at alternative. The song also had a powerful, months-long afterburn on mainstream Top 40 and Hot AC radio, hitting the top 10 in both formats. The follow-up ballad, honoring our nation’s troops, “18 Days,” is a top 5 hit at active rock, top 10 at alternative radio. “Drowning (Face Down)” continues to rocket up the charts at both active rock radio, currently at #5 and alternative radio where it is in the top 25. Saving Abel is currently on the road playing some shows with Shinedown before returning to arenas with rock giants Nickelback . Saving Abel’s 18 Days Tour Ep which features an acoustic version of “18 Days” and two b-sides is available now exclusively at iTunes.

About Saving Abel:
Saving Abel – named after the Biblical sibling of Cain – was formed by Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null in 2004 in their hometown of Corinth, Mississippi. Now based in Memphis, Tennessee, the band’s lineup includes guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor and drummer Blake Dixon. Combining influences of southern rock, hard rock and alternative music, the band was first heard on a 2005 EP, produced by Skidd Mills (12 Stones, Saliva, Submersed). Since the March, 2008 release of their self titled debut, Saving Abel has earned 3 top 10 singles at active and alternative rock radio, a top 10 hit at top 40 radio, a gold record, platinum single and has toured with such bands as Nickelback, Buckcherry, Seether, Avenged Sevenfold, Puddle of Mudd and more.

Papa Roach

Spending over 10 years as an alternative rock force, Papa Roach have returned in 2009 revitalized and ready to bring their infectious anthems to scores of fans around the world. Boasting a wealth of growth and bravado, their fifth studio album, “Metamorphosis,” is out today, March 24th via DGC/Interscope Records. Remaining true to their LA roots, Metamorphosis was written at the legendary Paramour Mansion and recorded at NRG Recording Studios. The album was co-produced by Jay Baumgardener (311, Evanescence, Incubus) and the band, with James Michael (Motley Crue, Sixx:A.M.) picking up additional co-production credits on five of the tracks. Metamorphosis secures the bands’ legacy in modern rock, showcasing their songwriting growth and maturity over the last decade.

The first single from “Metamorphosis,” “Lifeline” hit radio in January and was the most added song at Rock radio in its first week. Only 8 weeks in, the track has hit #1 at Active Rock and exhibits serious staying power. The band performed the song on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 6th. “Lifeline” is one of the fastest growing songs at active, alternative and mainstream rock and is available online at iTunes, various digital outlets and at Hot Topic stores on an exclusive two-song CD single. Papa Roach recently shot the official video for the song with director Chris Sims (Queens of the Stone Age, Jimmy Eat World), which was immediately premiered on imeem.com, and added at MTV2, MTVu, Fuse, and Music Choice. The video underscores the social messages prevalent throughout the track and the album. Papa Roach will be hitting the road with Nickleback for a full US tour in July, as well as trekking through Europe in June for their first headlining tour in over 2 years.

As a thank you to their most loyal fans, anyone purchasing Metamorphosis as a CD or iTunes digital album will be granted access to the “Backstage Pass” section of the bands site, which will feature exclusive video greetings from the band and more, and will be regularly updated. The URL is www.paparoach.com/promo/backstagepass <http://www.paparoach.com/promo/backstagepass> (those that purchased the CD must have it in their CD-drive to access content).

Papa Roach’s fifth studio album, Metamorphosis, is a call-to-arms. The multi-platinum, Grammy nominated Northern California quartet has created their album of the decade, and it’s a bold, belligerent and bloody statement. Papa Roach made a gritty, raw, relevant album that pulls no punches.

Papa Roach

Since they burst onto the scene with Infest in 2000, Papa Roach has sold over 8 million albums worldwide, becoming an internationally successful hard rock presence. Over the course of their career including 2002’s Lovehatetragedy, Getting Away with Murder in 2004 and The Paramour Sessions in 2006, the band has churned out 7 Top Ten rock singles including “Last Resort,” “Forever,” “Getting Away With Murder,” “Scars” and “To Be Loved”. As rock music has evolved, so too has Papa Roach, and the band remains as popular as ever- 3 of those Top Ten multi-format singles came from the band’s last album.

Co-produced by Jay Baumgardner and Papa Roach (with 6 songs also co-produced by James Michael), the album was written at the Paramour Mansion in Los Angeles. Metamorphosis shows the band’s great talent and growth. Singer Jacoby Shaddix offers, “This record has a huge rock edge with tinges of punk and metal. It has that groove and aggression we’ve always had, but there’s also a new flare.” Bassist Tobin Esperance adds that, “the sound of the new record is electric. It’s balls-to-the-wall, organic rock n’ roll with raw, in-your-face emotion. On the flip side, there’s melody, vulnerability and honesty. It adds another dimension to what we bring to the rock n’ roll game. We get bigger and badder every time.” Guitarist Jerry Horton expounds, “We’re going for a more timeless sound. We aren’t focusing on one particular style. We’re opening ourselves up to everything. We wanted to explore different avenues and modes. There’s bluesy stuff. There’s more progressive stuff. It’s our most diverse and cohesive record, so far.”

Leading the charge is Shaddix – his voice oscillates from a violent wail to an infectious croon and his lyrics tackle everything from the tattered and torn remnants of the Sunset Strip to a country in political tumult. On cuts like “Change or Die,” Horton’s riffs thrash and burn in tandem with Esperance’s impenetrable bass lines, while new drummer Tony Palermo (ex-Unwritten Law) pounds out punk rock beats that give the music a raw urgency. On “State of Emergency,” the guitar scorches through the din, leaving the listener battered, bruised and begging for more. “I Almost Told You That I Loved You” and “Into the Light” have a classic rock feel, and “March Out of the Darkness” begins with an epic acoustic guitar and explodes into a massive melody. The album’s first single “Lifeline” boasts a snaky riff that snaps into a bombastic chorus, and the song takes hold of the listener.

Throughout their decade together, Papa Roach has remained true to themselves and to their fans. Shaddix observes, “It’s a whole different ball game from when we started. However, our passion, conviction and drive remain the same. It still gets me off when we write a killer riff. That’s my drug of choice. Our fans really connect with the honesty and passion in what we do.”

Fans got their first taste of the new songs from the album during the band’s live performances on Motley Crüe’s Crüe Fest 2008 and with a free download of the viral video release for the song “Hollywood Whore” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duuUnO6kxGg), which has had more than a million views since its release in November. The band uploaded the video directly to their fans as a gift for having to wait an additional five months before the release of Metamorphosis.

The hard working career band is one of the best live acts on the touring circuit. From the main stages on OZZfest and Crüe Fest, to stints with everyone from Slipknot to Eminem, Papa Roach dominate stage after stage. “We bring it live,” Shaddix says. “Listening to a record is one thing, but when you come to one of our shows, it’s like the last tribal experience. Playing shows every night is what we’re built for. We make a club feel like an arena, and we make an arena feel like a club. We’re going to tour our guts out this year and bring our music to fans all over the world in the next 18 months.” Since this summer’s Crüe Fest, the top rock festival of the season, Papa Roach has toured with Staind and Seether and has played before 700,000 fans in the past six months.

Esperance concludes, “We’re very raw. There’s no fuckin’ bullshit, tapes or tricks. We aim to make people feel every emotion. We want to make dynamic and adventurous records. Metamorphosis solidifies our identity as a hard rock contender. We’re not going anywhere. You can’t deny Papa Roach.”

Co-Produced by Jay Baumgardner and Papa Roach with additional co-production by James Michael on six of the tracks, the new album conjures a vicious, vibrant intensity that is raw, relevant and ready to rock. The multi-platinum selling, Grammy-nominated Northern California quartet is back with their album of the decade.

Papa Roach

Papa Roach is Jacoby Shaddix (vocals), Tobin Esperance (bass), Jerry Horton (guitar) and new member (ex-Unwritten Law’s) Tony Palermo (drums). Since bursting onto the scene in 2000, the band has toured the world and churned out Top 10 multi-format Billboard hits including “Last Resort,” “Forever,” “Getting Away With Murder,” “Scars” and “To Be Loved,” three of those on the last release. There is no shortage of classic songs on Metamorphosis either. The album’s first radio single, “Lifeline,” combines an AC/DC-style fret run with an undeniable chorus.

Fans got their first taste of the new songs from the album during their live performances on Crüe Fest 2008 and with a free download of the viral video release for the song “Hollywood Whore” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duuUnO6kxGg) which the band released in November 2008 as a gift to long-time fans. The video has had more than a million views.

Metamorphosis captures Papa Roach’s incendiary live energy on record. The album engages a full-on rock n’ roll assault fueled by the band’s punky raw energy, catchy guitar riffs and irrefutable melodies. They have delivered the most entertaining album of their career; it’s the culmination of their devotion to performing live and always giving their fans what they want while staying true to themselves.

Leading up to album release, Papa Roach will embark on a national tour alongside Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold and Saving Abel, kicking off on January 28th in Salt Lake City. This follows a half year of non-stop touring in front of 700,000 people that included the main stage on Motley Crüe’s Crüe Fest and a recent autumn run with Staind and Seether.

“We bring it live,” says Shaddix. “When you come to one of our shows, it’s like the last tribal experience. Playing shows every night is what we’re built for. We make a club feel like an arena and we make an arena feel like a club. We’re going to tour our guts out and bring our music to fans all over the world.”
