The deluxe edition will also include a 28-page bound book featuring numerous never before seen photos chronicling the band’s 15-year history. Both the standard and deluxe configurations, as well as a collectors 180 gram vinyl edition, will be released November 3 on Roswell/RCA.

In addition to the dozen-plus anthems that have charted the band’s rise to Grammy winning, multi-platinum, arena and stadium headlining status the world over, Foo Fighters’ Greatest Hits features two newly recorded songs available only on this compilation: The new single “Wheels” and “Word Forward”–both recorded especially for this collection at the band’s own fabled 606 studio complex with producer Butch Vig. “Wheels” is also the subject of the latest soon to be classic Foo Fighters video, appropriately included on the deluxe DVD and reuniting the band with director Sam Brown who lensed the unforgettable clip for “The Pretender.”

Greatest Hits covers every phase of the 15-year-and-counting run that began with 1995’s Foo Fighters, with its classic singles “This Is A Call” and “Big Me,” and has since yielded six platinum-plus records and as many Grammys . The double-platinum The Colour & The Shape, originally issued in 1997 and since reissued in a deluxe 10th anniversary edition is recalled here not only by “Monkeywrench,” “Everlong” and “My Hero,” but by the first ever studio recording of “Everlong (acoustic).” Consecutive Best Rock Album Grammy winners There Is Nothing Left To Lose (1999) and One By One (2002) are represented by two pairs of classics respectively: “”Learn To Fly” and “Breakout,” and “All My Life” and “Times Like These,” while 2005’s two-disc electric/acoustic 10th anniversary opus In Your Honor yields the perennial FF final encore “Best Of You.” The intimate 2006 acoustically augmented theater tour documented on the Skin + Bones album and DVD is commemorated here by that collection’s title track. Greatest Hits is completed by “The Pretender” and “Long Road To Ruin,” a double shot from 2007’s Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, which earned the Foos their third Best Rock Album Grammy and set off
the band’s biggest ever headlining tour, which peaked with a two-night stand at London’s Wembley Stadium attended by 165,000 fans-setting the venue’s two-night attendance record-and immortalized on the 18-song Foo Fighters: Live At Wembley Stadium DVD.

165,000 tickets sold and more than four hours of music later, FOO FIGHTERS have now immortalized their biggest ever headline stand: FOO FIGHTERS: LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM, an 18-song DVD and Blu-Ray document of their two sold out Wembley Stadium shows, will be released November 18th.

The Wembley concerts, which took place Friday and Saturday June 6 and 7 of this year, sold out within 24 hours, making them the biggest headline performances of the band’s illustrious career–as well as the biggest rock shows staged at the new Wembley Stadium to date.

FOO FIGHTERS: LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM is a career-spanning live opus, drawing on all six of Foo Fighters’ studio albums, featuring Dave Grohl (vocals/guitar), Taylor Hawkins (drums/vocals), Nate Mendel (bass) and Chris Shiflett (guitar) ripping through classics “Times Like These,” “Everlong,” “Monkey Wrench,” “All My Life” and “Learn To Fly” as well as new live staples including “Long Road To Ruin.” Elsewhere the core FF four are joined by co-founding FF guitarist Pat Smear, keyboardist Rami Jaffee, violinist/cellist Jessy Greene and percussionist Drew Hester on the DVD’s blazing opener “The Pretender” as well as a semi-acoustic mid-set section featuring intimate versions of “My Hero,” the Grohl-penned Nirvana B-Side “Marigold,” Hawkins’ lead vocal turn on “Cold Day In The Sun” and more.

Like the Wembley weekend, FOO FIGHTERS: LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM concludes with a triumphant and highly emotional “Best Of You” with a closing chorus of 85,000 fans leaving Grohl visibly moved.

Early on in the evening’s festivities, Grohl asked the crowd “How did this band get so f***ing big?” By the close of the weekend, 165,000 people knew the answer. And now with the release of FOO FIGHTERS: LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM, so will you.

Having received confirmed press reports that John McCain has been using Foo Fighters’ “My Hero” as the latest in a number of unauthorized theme songs at his campaign rallies without seeking permission from the band, its management, record label or publisher, Foo Fighters have issued the following statement: This isn’t the first time the McCain campaign has used a song without making any attempt to get approval or permission from the artist. It’s frustrating and infuriating that someone who claims to speak for the American people would repeatedly show such little respect for creativity and intellectual property. The saddest thing about this is that ‘My Hero’ was written as a celebration of the common man and his extraordinary potential. To have it appropriated without our knowledge and used in a manner that perverts the original sentiment of the lyric just tarnishes the song. We hope that the McCain campaign will do the right thing and stop using our song–and start asking artists’ permission in general!
