Jay-Z and Beyonce have released the first photos of their newborn daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

The images surfaced on Jay-Z’s lifestyle blog, Life + Times, on Friday afternoon (Feb. 10). “We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives. – The Carter Family” was released as a message to the couple’s fans.

Video: Adele Singing A Cappella After Surgery

Adele’s voice is doing great. You can see for yourself in a “60 Minutes” preview aired Friday morning on “CBS This Morning,” the soul-pop star sang three verses — a cappella style — of her hit song, “Rolling in the Deep.”

It was the first time Adele has sung in public since throat surgery in early November and came at the request of interviewer Anderson Cooper. In the “60 Minutes” interview, she also talks about when she first realized there was something wrong with her voice and describes how she managed to communicate without speech.

“It was really hard,” she says in the clip. “I love talking… I had a note pad and an application on my phone. You talk the words into it and then it speaks it. The great thing is, I love to swear… and I found one where you can swear, so I could get my point across.”

Bruce Springsteen’s new music video for “We Take Care of Our Own,” his message is given new poignance as the song literally spreads light across the United States.

With subtitles appearing to help fans sing along to his latest anthem, Springsteen is seen rocking out in an abandoned warehouse and lamenting the fact that “There ain’t no help, the cavalry stayed home.” Black-and-white images of gritty Americana soon morph into Technicolor, and in the final shot of the video, Springsteen is shown walking amongst the people he’s no doubt inspired.

Damon Albarn and Flea Collaborate To Release Rocketjuice And The Moon Album in March

Rocketjuice And The Moon, the new project featuring Damon Albarn, Flea and Tony Allen, will release their debut album on March 26.

Albarn, best known for the frontman of Blur and Gorillaz, began working on the self-titled LP with the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist in 2008 when they met on a flight to Lagos, Nigeria.

The album, which was recorded in Albarn’s Studio 13 in London, also features contributions from singer Erykah Badu, Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, Ghanian rapper M. anifest and the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.

Rocketjuice And The Moon made their live debut with a show at the Barbican in London in October last year.

Albarn has previously explained that the band didn’t come up with their name themselves, stating: “Someone in Lagos did the sleeve design and that’s the name he gave it, which suits me because trying to find a name for another band is always tricky.”

Ronnie Wood Says He Turned Down Joining Led Zeppelin

The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood said he turned down the chance to join Led Zeppelin.

Speaking on his radio show, Wood said that his old manager Peter Grant mentioned to Wood about joining the group when they were still known as The New Yardbirds, but he refused as he thought they were a “bunch of farmers”.

“Peter Grant used to manage myself and Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart and Mickey Waller and Nicky Hopkins back in the good old days,” he said. “He was behind a band that was going to be called The New Yardbirds.”

Wood added: I had an offer to join, and I said ‘I can’t join that bunch of farmers’. Anyway, they eventually changed their name and turned out to be Led Zeppelin, and he managed them as well.

‘American Idol’ Ratings Down — Beat by ‘The Voice’

Is American Idol’s’ best days behind it?

The Wed., Feb. 8 show earned a 6.0 rating in the advertiser’s coveted 18-49 demographic, which was not enough to beat NBC’s “The Voice” this week.

On Mon., Feb. 6, “The Voice” pulled in a 6.7 rating in the demographic and 17.7 million viewers total. But the Feb. 8 “Idol” episode — the first edition of Hollywood Week — did beat out “The Voice” in total viewers with 18.9 million.

In terms of total viewers in the key 18-49 demographic, 7.7 million viewers tuned into “Idol,” while “The Voice” had 8.5 million viewers.

Suge Knight Arrested In Las Vegas On Drug Charges

Rap music mogul Marion “Suge” Knight is facing a March court date in Las Vegas following his arrest on a 2009 traffic warrant and a new misdemeanor drug charge, authorities said Thursday.

The former Death Row Records executive, 46, was stopped driving a black Bentley with California license plates about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on a street just off Flamingo Road west of the Las Vegas Strip, Officer Laura Meltzer said.

Knight was issued an unsafe lane change summons and arrested on a warrant stemming from previous traffic infractions. He also was charged with possession of less than one ounce of a controlled substance and released from jail without bail.

Celebrity website TMZ first reported the arrest. It said Knight had marijuana with him in the car.

The ‘Blues Series’ has previously featured artists such as Stephen Colbert and Insane Clown Posse, who put out their track ‘Leck Mich Im Arsch’ as an exclusive seven-inch and download last September.

Adele Responds To Being Called Fat

For many women, the ultimate insult is being called overweight. However, Grammy-nominated sensation Adele is not one of them–in fact, she says she’s just fine with her shape and size. In response to a comment by fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, who caused waves by outright calling the 23-year-old “fat” in an interview with Paris newspaper Metro this week, Adele had this to say: “I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines. I represent the majority of women, and I’m very proud of that.” The quote appears in the February 20 issue of People, which hits newsstands on Friday.

According to Rollingstone.com: ret Michaels’ upcoming solo album, Get Your Rock On, will include a few friends. “Loretta Lynn and I are gonna redo ‘Every Rose Has It’s Thorn’ together,” he tells Rolling Stone. “And, for me, growing up in a family that my father loved country music and Coal Miner’s Daughter, this is gonna be a really awesome time.”

How did the two come together? “I met her at Thanksgiving and it was really great. We were out at her ranch in Hurricane Mills and we sat there, me and her, and after everyone, the whole family and my crew sort of dissipated we sat there and started writing some songs together,” he says. And one of the ideas she had was redoing ‘Every Rose Has It’s Thorn’ and I thought it would be unbelievable for me and her to do that together.”
