Multi-platinum and Grammy winning rock band, Evanescence, will release their highly anticipated third studio album, Evanescence, on October 11th through Wind-Up Records. Evanescence will mark the band’s first release in five years. Recorded in Nashville, the self-titled, 12 track album was produced by Grammy winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, Rush) and shows a clear evolution in the band’s writing while maintaining their signature sound.

The album’s first single will be the hard-hitting “What You Want,” which is set to impact radio on August 9th. The single will be available exclusively on iTunes beginning August 9th and then to all digital retailers on August 16th. “Its about freedom,” Lee described about the song in a recent interview with MTV. Other tracks on the album include “Lost In Paradise” which Lee says is “probably the most intimate song on the album”, and “Oceans” and clearly showcase Lee’s growth and range as a songwriter. “The music and the lyrics have gone more aggressive than they ever have before too,” added Lee. “We are so excited to release this thing. We’ve been working on this music for a very long time, and seeing it all finally come together is a really amazing feeling. This album is about us and also our fans–we’re combining the best of Ev with some new attitude and we’re just dying to share it.”

On Monday, August 8th, Evanescence will perform their new single “What You Want” for the first time LIVE on MTV at 7:54pm ET during “MTV First: Evanescence.” Immediately following the performance, the band will stay on for an exclusive interview and interactive Q&A session with MTV News’ James Montgomery on MTV.com. Fans can get in on the action and submit questions beginning today through MTV.com or via Twitter (using @MTVNews / hash-tag #EVMTV). Following the conclusion of the live stream, fans will be able to stream the full album version of “What You Want” at MTV.com.

Evanescence will also hit the road this fall for a 15 city North American tour in support of the album which kicks off October 10th in Oakland, CA and continues through November 1st in New York City (full routing below). New York rock band The Pretty Reckless will be the direct support and Rival Sons will be the opening act on all dates.
Capping off an incredible year, P!nk has been nominated for two Grammy Awards, including the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance category for her hit single “Sober” and in the Best Pop Vocal Album category for her multi-platinum selling album Funhouse. These two make a total of nine Grammy nominations for P!nk, who has won the coveted music award two times – for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals in 2001 for “Lady Marmalade,” performed with Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, and Mya, and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for “Trouble” from 2004’s Try This.

2009 has proved to be a whirlwind year for the international superstar, who’s nominated album Funhouse has now sold more than 5 million copies worldwide and boasts her first #1 Billboard single, “So What!” The album also inspired her wildly successful Funhouse Tour which took the world by storm this year, travelling across the globe and breaking touring records along the way. P!nk is now the most successful solo touring artist of all time in Australia, playing an unprecedented 60 sold out arena shows. Stateside, the US leg of the Funhouse Tour was P!nk’s first ever headlining arena tour in her home country. Kicking off in Seattle on September 15th, the tour packed arenas across the country and left fans and critics raving. The New York Times proclaimed, “Even in an era of escalating pop spectacle, Pink’s ‘Funhouse’ tour is going to be hard to top…Onstage she was a down-to-earth superwoman.” P!nk even previewed her Funhouse Tour with a fearless acrobatic performance at this year’s MTV VMA Awards.

P!nk’s dazzling live concert is captured in her recently released live DVD/album Funhouse Tour Live In Australia. The concert was filmed entirely in HD in Australia and features P!nk performing hits from the past decade as well as new favorites from Funhouse.

Since her debut in 2000, P!nk has been widely hailed as a fearlessly talented singer/songwriter. To date, the Pennsylvania native has sold 30 million albums cumulatively worldwide. Her previous albums include: her four million-unit selling debut, Can’t Take Me Home (2000); her sophomore follow-up, M!ssundaztood (2001) which sold 11 million worldwide; the 2.7 million worldwide seller Try This (2003), and I’m Not Dead (2006), which sold over 5 million units globally and spawned two No. 1 hits ”Who Knew” and “U + Ur Hand.”

Praise for P!nk:

“Pink can out-sing almost anyone out there. She can out-crazy Gaga or Lily. She’s the total pop-star package, everything you’d want in a singer/entertainer/icon” – MTV.COM

“One of the best rock shows of the year.” – New York Post

“Pink even pulled off an impressive version of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’…Like everything in Friday’s concert- like everything in Pink’s career- the song was a gamble, but one that the singer made look like a piece of cake.” – Los Angeles Times

“Pink’s true gift is as a musical androgynist — blurring the line between rocker and pop star, or between mourner and celebrant.” – Entertainment Weekly

“Pop music’s edgiest star” -Rolling Stone

“During a two-hour, turbo-charged performance at Key Arena, the platinum-blonde powerhouse overshadowed trapeze dancers, huge inflatable harlequins, Broadway-worthy choreography, and a pillow fight (!), wowing the packed crowd with her charisma, athleticism, and — most disarming of all — sense of humor.” – SPIN

With over 181,000 copies in its first week of release, Rated R stands as the biggest first-week Soundscan tally of Rihanna’s career.

After a whirlwind promotional tour leading up to the release of Rated R – including a London concert broadcast on MTV, BET and VH1 and performances on the American Music Awards, The Late Show with David Letterman and a Good Morning America concert in New York City’s Times Square – Rihanna’s two singles, “Russian Roulette” and “Hard” feat. Jeezy, are everywhere. Already exploding at radio, “Hard” was the #1 most added record at both the pop and urban formats, and was the greatest gainer at rhythm.

Rihanna will make two very special appearances in New York City later this week. Tomorrow, Thursday December 3rd, she will perform her first major New York area concert in over a year, with a special show at Hammerstein Ballroom sponsored by Myspace, Jetblue and radio station Hot 97. The show will stream live on Myspace.com/Rihanna at 9pm EST tomorrow night. Then, on Saturday December 5th, Rihanna will make her Saturday Night Live debut as musical guest.

As a follow up to the first single, “Gangsta Luv,” featuring The Dream, Snoop chose “I Wanna Rock” – a clever re-working of the classic Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock’s “It Takes Two” produced by Scoop Deville. The bouncy and infectious song is sure to lend itself to the latest “jerk movement” craze. Just released to mixshow last week, the song has gotten a tremendous amount of support and is generating a huge buzz. The accompanying video, directed by Eric Peyton, features guest appearances by Jamie Foxx and showcases incredible dance sequences from MTV’s 2009 America’s Best Dance Crew winners, Quest Crew, Power Rangers and the Snoopettes. The appearance on So You Think You Can Dance will mimic the video, with all starring dancers on stage with Snoop to create an energetic and unforgettable performance.

Snoop has also announced performances on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Last Call with Carson Daly, The Wendy Williams Show, One Life to Live and The Colbert Report as well as appearances on Larry King, The View, The Martha Stewart Show and The Wanda Sykes Show. Additionally, Snoop is the ESPN Artist of the Month in December. Throughout the month of December, songs from Malice N Wonderland will be featured throughout ESPN’s programming.

The forthcoming album title provides interesting results as the intersection of “malice” and “wonder” combines for an exciting listen. “When I started to put together this record I had a lot of malice in my heart-just focusing on making hardcore gangsta music,” explains Snoop. “But then my mood lightened and I wanted to make some music that just felt good…to me and to the ladies.” Producers who collaborated on “Malice N Wonderland” include hitmakers Teddy Riley, Pharrell, Lil Jon, among others along with guest appearances by artists such as R Kelly, Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan and Soulja Boy.

Katharine McPhee warmly laughs as she confesses she’s been in “artistic hiding” for the last few years.
“It took me a long time to figure out where I wanted to go and be as an artist,” she says. “I needed time to learn who I was as a musician.”
Once she discovered the answer, however, her path was sure and swift. On Unbroken, her Verve Records debut, listeners will discover a glorious side of McPhee previously untapped. Poignant, vital lyrics swell over full, lush melodies. McPhee’s supple, clear voice, resonating with emotion and confidence, caresses each note on this collection of soon–to–be pop classics. The 36-city tour will kick off March 5, 2010. Please find all tour dates listed below. A select number of shows will go on sale beginning December 4, 2009. Full venue and ticketing information is available at http://www.norahjones.com/tour/.

Jones will also be premiering several remixes from The Fall this week. The three tracks will be featured on three different websites throughout the week. On December 1, RCRD LBL (http://rcrdlbl.com/) will present “That’s What I Said (The NYC Remix by Adrock and Mike D).” On December 2, Stereogum (http://stereogum.com/) will present “Chasing Pirates (Santigold and Snotty Remix).” On December 3, Artist Direct (http://www.artistdirect.com/) will present “Chasing Pirates (Droogs Remix),” which was created by a remix collective that included Beck. The remixes will be released digitally and on vinyl on January 12, 2010.

“We decided to have people I admire do some remixes,” Jones recently told Entertainment Weekly. “[futureusgalleryAdrock and Mike D of] Beasties Boys did one, and Beck, and Santigold.” Jones first collaborated with Beastie Boys during the 2008 presidential election when they recruited her for their Get Out The Vote concerts, which also included Santigold. Jones also appeared in the season finale of 30 Rock this past May along with Mike D and Adrock. Jones and Beck first met when they performed together on KCRW’s holiday concert in 2002.

The Fall finds Jones experimenting with a new set of collaborators, including Jacquire King, a noted producer and engineer who has worked with Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, and Modest Mouse among others. Jones enlisted several songwriting collaborators, including Ryan Adams and Okkervil River’s Will Sheff, as well as her frequent partner Jesse Harris. King also helped Jones put together a new group of musicians to perform on the album, including drummers Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.) and James Gadson (Bill Withers), keyboardist James Poyser (Erykah Badu, Al Green), and guitarists Marc Ribot (Tom Waits, Elvis Costello) and Smokey Hormel (Johnny Cash, Joe Strummer).

The album follows the phenomenal success of POM’s third release, 2007′s Famous. Famous proved the band’s consistency to deliver to not only their fans, but on all business platforms. One single off of Famous, “Psycho,” earned Billboard Magazine’s highest honors – #1 Mainstream Rock Song of the Year, #4 Hot Modern Rock Song of the Year, as well as Mainstream Rock #2 Artist of 2008. Radio and Records posted “Psycho” as the #1 Rock Song of 2008, #2 Active Rock Song of the Year, and POM earned their Number 3 status for Rock Artist of the Year.

Recording Volume 4 in Vancouver & Los Angeles, Puddle Of Mudd (POM) smartly re-enlisted the talents of Brian Howes, who produced the aforementioned Famous and John Kurzweg, who produced 2001’s album, Come Clean. “Even though we hate messing with success, we felt adding newcomer Brain Virtue to the producer mix would be a welcome change,” say frontman Wes Scantlin. “What we got is 10 tracks of exactly what we were looking for,” adds Scantlin.

In addition to singer/guitarist Wes Scantlin, bassist Douglas Ardito, drummer Ryan Yerdon and the return of guitarist Paul Phillips on guitars round out the POM line-up. The band’s 2001 debut album Come Clean generated four #1 alternative and rock radio hit singles (“Blurry,” “She Hates Me,” “Control” and “Drift And Die”), with “Blurry” becoming the most played track on Modern Rock Radio for 2002 and scooping the ASCAP award for most played song of the year. 2003 saw the release of their follow up Life On Display, which featured the top 5 radio hit “Away From Me” and the top 10 hit “Heel Over Head.”

The first single from Volume 4, “Spaceship,” will be available to fans October 27th on Amazon.com and iTunes. For the video, the band hired Petro Papahadjopoulos to create the visual component that will include guest appearances by Nitro Circus, action sport legends – Travis Pastrana, Jolene Van Vugt, Jim DeChamp, Andy Bell, Erik Roner, “Streetbike” Tommy Passemante, Jeremy Rawle, Gregg Godfrey, and Hubert Rowland.

“It’s easy and predictable to say I’m most proud of this record,” says band frontman Wes Scantlin, adding “but I think it’s more appropriate to say I’m most proud of what we’ve accomplished as a band to this point.” The music business has gotten nothing but more difficult over the years, since the band’s debut. But an unfazed Scantlin is quick to credit not only their ability to write ear-friendly songs, but to credit the fans that react to them. Says Wes, “we’ve not only navigated the minefield successfully, but we’ve laid our own on the battlefield that is this business. As self-sufficient as ever, we virtually depend on the fans to come through for us – and because of that, this band is built for the future.”

Corporate line: She captured the hearts of millions and became a worldwide YouTube phenomenon with over 300 million hits. An inspiration for those who have a dream, the talented Susan Boyle presents her stunning debut album. Susan surprised the world with her powerful, heart stopping voice when she walked onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage. Now with a beautiful and diverse album she will, once again, defy preconceptions. I Dreamed a Dream, the album, crafted by world acclaimed producer Steve Mac, demonstrates Susan Boyle’s extensive musical ability. Featuring her signature songs, `I Dreamed a Dream’ & `Cry me a River’ the album also includes a haunting rendition of Rolling Stones “Wild Horses”, Madonna’s `You’ll See, The Monkees `Daydream Believer’ and “Who I Was Born To Be” an original recording written specially for Susan. Susan enthused; “It was my greatest ambition to release an album and I have finally achieved it. This amazing journey has helped me find my own identity and fulfill my wish. There is happiness out there for everyone who dares to dream.”

2. I Dreamed A Dream – This is the rendition that captured the world and took their collective breathe away. What can you say–it’s beautiful. [futureusgallery8/10]

3. Cry Me A River – Boyle does manage to pull off a good rendition. [futureusgallery7/10]

4. How Great Thou Art – This surely stoked much pride in her native Britain. [futureusgallery6/10]

5. You’ll See – Boyle’s take on Madonna is actually shocking. Frankly, if Madonna was this good of a singer she’d be a bigger star than she is–imagine that. [futureusgallery7/10]

6. Daydream Believer – Unfortunately this is amazingly pedestrian and hokey. [futureusgallery2/10]

7. Up To The Mountain – Although Boyle can hit all the notes and pulls it off–there seems to be a lack of soul. It sounds like Boyle is simply going through the motions. [futureusgallery6/10]

8. Amazing Grace – Done nicely–but there are a million versions out there and Boyle doesn’t do much with it. [futureusgallery6/10]

9. Who I Was Born To Be – Simply beautiful. It’s far more touching than many of the other tracks. Boyle doesn’t sound like she is going through the motions. [futureusgallery8/10]

10. Proud – Filler. [futureusgallery5/10]

11. The End Of The World – This is boring. It’s missing something right in the middle. [futureusgallery5/10]

12. Silent Night – Certain to be a holiday staple. [futureusgallery8/10]

Frankly: Sadly this album was overrated. The problem is that Susan Boyle was rushed to get an album out before Christmas and with that came nothing but a cover album. Surely Susan Boyle will be printing money with the sales of “I Dreamed a Dream” but its to bad there is nothing original. At some point it’ll be interesting to hear Boyle’s own voice.
