Moby to release limited edition album “Wait For Me”

moby-waitforme-cover-webMoby is set to release a limited edition deluxe version of his critically acclaimed 2009 album ‘Wait For Me’ on November 24th, 2009 through Mute.

‘Wait For Me Deluxe’ is comprised of three discs, and there will also be a digital deluxe edition available to download. Disc One is the original 16-track album plus two new, previously unreleased bonus tracks (‘One Time We Lived’ and ‘Stay Down’), which Moby recorded especially for the deluxe edition in August 09 in his NYC home studio. One of the tracks, ‘One Time We Lived’, will be the next Moby single released digitally December 8th, 2009.

Disc Two is an ambient version of the original album, 16 brand new interpretations of the original tracks, re-interpreted and re-recorded by Moby. Disc Three is a DVD comprised of live highlights from Moby’s 2009 summer European festival dates, an animated EPK and interview with Moby, plus five videos for songs from Wait For Me, including David Lynch’s animation for ‘Shot in The Back of the Head.’ The DVD also includes 16 ‘blips’ (30 second animations for each of the tracks on the original album).

Since its release earlier this year, ‘Wait For Me’ has won over critics and fans alike on a global scale. David Lynch described the album simply as “beautiful”, NPR’s Bob Boilen called it “His best album in 10 years,” and Rolling Stone calls it a “return to form.”

Moby’s next single ‘One Time We Lived’ will be released digitally on December 8th, 2009. The package includes remixes from Matrix & Futurebound, HiJack, Moguai, Kap Bambino, Sharooz, Laurent Wolf, The Glimmers, and Lulu Rouge. To coincide with the release, Moby has shot a low-fi performance video with his band in NYC, continuing the ‘DIY’ theme of the ‘Wait For Me’ campaign. There will also be an animated video featuring The Little Idiot and his animated band!

Moby is currently touring the US. The live show sees Moby on guitar, piano, percussion and occasionally singing lead. The UK’s Evening Standard called Moby’s a “virtuoso performance” and gave the event a 4-star review. In another 4-star live review, The Guardian UK called the performance “highly entertaining” and “as much a gig for the mind as for the feet.” The Washington Post, in their review of Moby’s live show, said “Although the show included some electro classics, Moby and his five-member band emphasized live music over the synthetic.”
