Look: It’s no Gran Turismo 3, however there is still some good detail and the cars are hot. It looks strikingly similar to Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero.
Feel: There is some good and some bad to Test Drive’s game play. The story reminded me a bit of Grand Theft Auto 3 where you are given assignments which causes you to run from the police and sprint through traffic. Driving isn’t bad, but the physics often get in the way. Physics? Well how in the hell do you get miles on the guy behind you and all of the sudden he’s on your ass? It’s ridiculous. Not only that, but when you crash it takes no time to get back to the lead. That’s not racing, that plain sucks. If you screw it up you should pay the consequences.
Hear: The soundtrack is a good deal of hip-hop. The sound effects and voice acting are good and occasionally funny.
Frankly: Test Drive could have been much better if it weren’t for the Physics of this. It’s so annoying that it will make you want to stop playing. It’s hard to get over that.
