Coco Lee – Just No Other Way

Coco Lee
Artist: Coco Lee
Title: Just No Other Way
Label: Epic
Rating: 5.5/10

The twenty-three year old CoCo Lee has sold millions of records everywhere but America, and we all know those good numbers have almost nothing to do with her releasing an album here.

The first single, “Do You Want My Love”, is catchy, but the mc is horrible and ruins the song. The Celine Dion-ish “Before I Fall In Love” was originally from the Runaway Bride soundtrack; it’s used shamelessly to plug a gaping hole on this record. CoCo is trying hard to be the Celine Dion for the new millennium. She has a ways to go. The songs on this record are much like any other pop album, but none are particularly inspiring or memorable. CoCo’s voice is great, but she never gets a chance to let it all hang out. If you live for hooky candy, then CoCo can show you the way.
