Joe Firstman – The War of Women

Company Line: With the release of his debut full-length album, “THE WAR OF WOMEN,” acclaimed singer/songwriter Joe Firstman more than delivers on the promise made by his widely praised “WIVES TALES” EP.
The Good:
“Can’t Stop Loving You” – Country tinged rock ‘n’ roll basted with some southern fried soul.
“Now You’re Gorgeous” – Defintely gorgeous. Get your fill.
The Marginal:
“Introduction” – the intro gives you a flavor of Joe Firstman and it gives you a sense of the Counting Crows.
“Breaking All The Ground” – I hear Train and the Black Crowes. Anyone else?
The Ugly:
“Slave Or Siren” – Sounds like a bad Foreigner song.
Frankly: Joe Firstman is on the lines of the Counting Crows with both his vocal style and storytelling. Firstman has a knack for making stories sound more interesting with music than with just words. If you need something to just relax to while sitting on the porch or calming your nerves during your drive to work then buy The War of Women.
