THE REVIEW: We could do “The Good, The Bad…” however Trail of Dead never quite unleash anything particularly bad. The only question is whether it’s your cup of tea. Some tracks, like “Will You Smile Again,” are fantastic once we reach the meat and potatoes however the overly drawn out instrumentals aren’t exceedingly interesting—they aren’t Pink Floyd after all.
“Summer of ‘91” is a step beyond the usual rock song and works tirelessly to make us believe that Trail of Dead are reintroducing the world to prog rock. “A Classic Arts Showcase” is damn good while “Let It Dive” sounds eerily like Oasis’ “Go Let It Out.”
FRANKLY: And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead have a hell of a long name and songs to match. If you like Rush and other prog rock bands or bands in the same realm you might be interested in Worlds Apart. Otherwise hold your distance as this isn’t the same punk band fans have come to know and expect.
